Dave came to see how versatile LEGO® can be for teaching Design and Technology skills to young people of all ages. After leaving teaching, Dave volunteered with the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) and worked with local schools and community groups to build teams to compete in FIRST® LEGO® League, the worlds largest STEM based competition for children from 4-16yrs. As a result of this, he offer the opportunity locally running LEGO Education sessions at various schools and venues in the PEAK District until COVID locked-down the country.
After the COVID restrictions were lifted the opportunity to run activities through the new LEGO themed Café in Buxton became an option and Dave is able to run a large part of the programme using Brick Corner’s activity space for this. Other venues include The Cafe at The Green Pavilion, High Peak Bookstore and Buxton Methodist Church.
Not Just Bricks also attends a variety of Community Events too.
