An exciting, hands-on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) programme, FIRST® LEGO® League engages children and young people in meaningful learning from 4-16 years old. It makes children feel proud of what they have achieved – encouraging them to continue engaging with STEM.
FIRST® LEGO® League Discover is aimed at 4-6 year olds and developing their STEM skills from an early age.
FIRST® LEGO® League Explore is an exciting STEM programme for 6–9 year olds which rapidly develops teamwork, design, programming, and communication skills.
FIRST® LEGO® League Challenge is a global STEM programme for teams of young people (aged 9-16 years), to encourage an interest in real world themes and develop key skills that are crucial for their future careers.
Young people work together to explore a given topic and to design, build and program an autonomous LEGO® robot to solve a series of missions.
FIRST® LEGO® League Challenge teams are available to join from the beginning of August each year and will meet for approximately 12 weekly team meetings during the September – March period (depending on the date of Regional Events run by The IET)
FIRST® LEGO® League Explore teams are available to join from the beginning of May each year and will meet for approximately 8 weeks during the May-July period (depending on the dates of Regional Events run by The IET)
