Apply to join a FIRST® LEGO® League Team and take part in the worlds biggest and best STEM Competition for 9-16yr olds

FIRST® LEGO® League Challenge is a global STEM programme for teams of young people, to encourage an interest in real world themes and develop key skills that are crucial for their future careers.

Young people work together to explore a given topic and to design, build and program an autonomous LEGO® robot to solve a series of missions on a specialised field to score as many points as possible. The teams must explain the process of designing, building, and programming their LEGO® robot they are using for the Robot Game. This season teams must also research the MASTERPIECE ℠ Theme and identify a problem related to the theme, design a solution to resolve it, and develop a presentation to communicate that solution. Whilst competing the teams need to demonstrate the FIRST® LEGO® League Core Values which include innovation, teamwork and inclusion. Being respectful and having a great time are central to what makes FIRST® LEGO® League so special.

This class is a block of 14 weekly 90 minute sessions and is open to 9-16 yr old Home Educated children. The dates for this include weekly team meetings at Brick Corner: 19/09/23, 26/09/23, 03/10/23, 10/10/23, 17/10/23, 24/10/23, 07/11/23, 14/11/23, 21/11/23, 28/11/23, 05/12/23, 12/12/23, 02/01/24, 09/01/24

Regional Competition: Nottingham University January 2024 Date TBC

The cost: £135 per head. Please complete the contact form to register an interest in this team by 15/09/23. Registering after this date will add your request to a waiting list. Opportunities to join a team mid-season can arise, as occasionally spaces become available.
